royaal station. Hoog linkerdeel met aangebouwd torentjeen een iets lager rechterdeel. Eilandperron met trappen en luchtbrug bereikbaar. Wachtkamers daarom op verdieping aangebracht

I do wish they had left the station and grounds looking like this. It is a great pity that with modern times and ideas that one feels one should change the buildings and ground. Woerden Station is better like it was in 1915,should have been preserved in the same state.

that why i created this site anyway. i hate to see al those beautiful things from the past disappear. thank god this building has been preserved (be it quite damaged by later additions). one has to always remember that it's not only the building that has a public function, but also the surroundings. this lovely park could never be able to serve all current needs of a modern railway stations surroundings. where should one park ones bus or car? they weren't there in 1915.
